Grand Rapids, MI - Among the many tracks and series gearing up for a 2023 campaign, the Engine Pro VROA Vintage Modifieds presented by Wyser Innovative Products is prepared for a 13 race schedule featuring events all over the state of Michigan. The vintage-bodied open-wheel modifieds have been racing in our area since the early 1990s.
VROA, or Vintage Racing Association of America, consists of steel coupe-style bodied vehicles on a racing-specific chassis. The leaf spring suspension vehicles feature an inline 6-cylinder engine or an Engine Pro 305/302 Spec Ford Engine. Racing on a D800 Hoosier Racing Tire, these vintage modifieds are designed to compete. Drivers who are looking to get their start in racing, return to the sport, or just love the open-wheel realm find themselves as members of the VROA.
The Series begins their season on April 29th at Berlin Raceway in Marne, MI. Seven different stops at Berlin are planned for VROA throughout the summer including their Mother’s Day Celebration, Margaritaville/Beach Night, Hall of Fame Night, Fan Appreciation Night which also pairs up with Must See Racing Sprint Cars, Battle of the Bands night, and Chet Championship Night.
Then the Association will hit the road for several events this season, including two races at Birch Run Speedway, two races at Kalamazoo Speedway, and single races at Owosso Speedway and Flat Rock Speedway. For Kalamazoo and Owosso, 2023 marks the first time VROA has raced at those facilities in quite some time. A decade has passed since the vintage modifieds unloaded at Owosso Speedway.
