Springport, MI - Officials with Springport Mid Michigan Speedway have made a statement nearly three weeks after their former Promoter, Donnie Ritter announced his resignation. In a late night post on Monday, the Speedway released the following statement thanking Ritter for his efforts and said that there will not be a weekly racing schedule next season. The post went on to say that they would run three special racing events with more details to be published soon. Officials also say that the 2025 Michigan Cup will remain on the schedule in early October also saying that they will run a limited mini-wedge schedule for the upcoming season.
"We know everyone has been waiting for the details about the 2025 racing season. Several big and life changing decisions have had to be made in just the last few weeks. We appreciate your patience with our effort to move forward.
First, we would like to thank Donnie Ritter for all his service and commitment to our fans, drivers, crew members and the speedway. His dedication to our sport has been second to none. His leadership and pure passion for racing has been the driving force in our achievements, we have been fortunate to have him the last eight seasons and nine Michigan Cups he will be missed.
Moving forward to the 2025 racing season we will not a have weekly racing schedule.
Three special racing events are in production now for the 2025 season, more details will be published as soon as they are finalized.

The 2025 MICHIGAN CUP will stay on the schedule for Oct 3rd thru Oct 5th 2025.

Speedway management has not returned a request for comment on the situation at Springport Mid Michigan Speedway.
