Kalamazoo, MI - Earlier this year it was announced that after nearly a decade of service at Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway, Donnie Ritter resigned as Promoter and would not return in 2025. Fans quickly expressed their appreciation for Ritter's work at the track and speculated where he would land for the upcoming season. Over the weekend, it was announced that Donnie and son Drew Ritter would join the operations team at Kalamazoo Speedway.
During the awards party, fans and teams were made aware of the hiring. Simultaneously the announcement was also unveiled on social media. In a post on Facebook, Kalamazoo Speedway said they made the hiring to take their race nights to the next level. The post explained that the Ritters would oversee the pit area and the overall program on race nights.
"Bringing Donnie and Drew to Kalamazoo Speedway is a game changer," said Promoter, Gary Howe. "Their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm are unmatched and I know they'll add a whole new level of excitement to our race nights. Our 75th season is shaping up to be one of the best yet and we can't wait for our fans to see what's in store."
The Ritter team will get to work their first official show at Kalamazoo Speedway during open practice on Saturday, April 12th prior to the season-opening Intimidator 35s featuring Late Models and Street Stocks for an increased purse. The complete regular season schedule runs through the end of September.
