Press Release from Eastern IMCA Allstars - Muskegon, MI (Wednesday, June 23, 2021) - Thunderbird Raceway was the site for Wednesday night's Eastern IMCA Allstars series Race number two. With cloudy skies most of the day and a chance of rain, track personnel put together a great racing surface and the drivers did not disappoint. Racing in all divisions was exciting and fun to watch.
With 37 IMCA modifieds signed in to compete, the heat race action was intense as Jeffrey Reay, Mitchell Hunt, Austin Wonch, and Myron Deyoung picked up wins. B-Main races were won by AJ Ward and Brody Bowser.
Vestaburg, Michigan's Kody Johnson led the field to the green in the 24 lap feature. Johnson chose the bottom of the race track to take the early lead with Reay and Hunt battling each other up top in pursuit of the leader. Reay stayed up near the cushion and was able to grab the lead just past the halfway point until a late-race caution. On the restart Reay entered the center of turns one and two and bobbled, giving Hunt the opportunity to grab the lead. Just one lap later Reay was able to motor on past Hunt and secure the top spot and cross the finish line for the win. Hunt was able to grab the runner-up position followed by AJ Ward, Johnson, and Brenton Deyoung rounding out the top five.
Attendance for the IMCA Stock Cars brought just two drivers and both agreed to run with the Pro Stock/Pro Truck class. In heat race action, Kyle Hunt and Dustin Weber grabbed wins. Feature action saw Muskegon, Michigan's Josh Sternberg pick up the win with Rob Putt crossing the line second followed by Hunt, Weber, and Mike Vandermark JR rounding out the top five.
The Midwest Compact cars brought 28 competitors to the night's events and they provided some great racing action. heat race wins went to Nick Jenema, Christian Deboer, and Brian Bussing. B-Main winner was Allen Hite who moved up 10 spots in 10 laps to put himself in the A-main. Jenema led the field to the green in the A-feature and never relinquished the lead and picked up the win. Ryan Hamm crossed the finish line in second place followed by Hite, Estavan Martinez, and Cameron Hendrickson.

Next up for the series will be July 28th at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan.
