One Five Motorsports Introduces Avery Demland as the Full-Time Driver in 2025

Hicksville, Ohio (Jan. 4, 2024) – One Five Motorsports announced that Avery Demland will take over full-time driving duties from her dad, Brian Demland, beginning in the 2025 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour season. Demland has taken over driving duties and has taken ownership of the team after the end of the 2024 season.

Demland’s first race of the season will be at Cordele Motor Speedway in Cordele, GA for the Protect Your Melon – Buckle Up Speedfest 2025, a non-points race. Demland’s goals for the first race of the season are simple but earnest “get some laps and finish the race in one piece.”

Demland began her racing career when she was seven in the Jr. Sprints in Peru, IN. After two seasons in the Jr. Sprint the family purchased a 600 restricted. After two seasons in the 600, Demland’s grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The family sold everything to spend the last months with their family. Avery’s grandma was her biggest fan, and Avery was devastated by the loss of her grandma.

Demland’s pursuits changed in high school to volleyball where she was a standout high school volleyball player. Demland continued her education, graduating from Law School at Ohio Northern University Claude W. Petit College of Law. Demland is now a successful attorney, and her heart has led her back to racing with the family team.

Last year, the Demland family was dealt another devastating blow last year with the loss of Demland’s grandfather, Dean. Grandpa Dean was Avery’s biggest supporter and critic all in one. As the start of the season approaches, Demland knows both her grandma and grandpa will be riding shotgun every time she hits the track, critiquing every move and encouraging her to drive harder. “I am grateful the old man taught me to never quit,” Demland said.

In her pursuit of returning to racing, Demland has spent the last two years learning more about stock car racing as Brian’s spotter and number-one fan. Demland has had some seat time over the past few months at Owosso Speedway, making gains every time out. “It is still a work in progress, but I am grateful for all the patience and coaching from my team.”

One Five Motorsports has brought on Gordon Guffey as Crew Chief. “Even when we didn’t have the best equipment, he worked with us and made our car better,” Demland said. “Since he started coming to tests with us, he has made our car better. Since he started testing with us, I’ve improved a ton. Every time I’ve hit the track, he’s made me a better driver. Coming from sprint cars as a kid to a crate car, I have a lot to learn, but he’s been patient and persistent in helping me get better.”

One Five Motorsports recently sold everything and purchased a Late Model from Brandon Oakley Racing (BOR) for the JEGS/CRA Series. The team intends to contend for Rookie of the Year honors and make a serious run for the Championship. Brandon Oakley has been hands-on during the decision-making process with the One Five Motorsports team, ensuring Demland was comfortable with the car and the process.

Oakley will also assist the team this year with coaching and car setup. “I’ve really enjoyed working with Brandon Oakley and everyone at BOR because they’ve been nothing but supportive and believed in me before I even got back behind the wheel,” Demland explained. “They’re there to make me a better driver and help our team succeed.”

A race team is not complete without the sponsors that support it. One Five Motorsports appreciates the continued support from Allied Moulded Products, Jason Dietsch Collision & Customs & Sales, Jason Dietsch Collision & Customs & Sales, TLC Motorsports Marketing, Brandon Oakley Racecars (BOR), Perna 3D Services LLC, PRI Custom Injection Molding, and Metal Manipulation.
