Nine Race Tracks for Midwest Modified Tour on 2022 Schedule

Updated: Jan 16, 2022

Detroit, MI (Thursday, December 16, 2021) - After two successful seasons under the Midwest Modified Tour moniker, the region’s premier asphalt modified touring series recently released its schedule for the 2022 racing season. The schedule features eleven races, between nine different race tracks, in five states.

The 2022 camping gets underway with a special non-points event on January 29th. For the first time, the CRA Speedfest event at Crisp Motorsport Park in Cordele, Georgia will host Modifieds. The race will feature stiff competition between the Midwest Modified Tour and the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour, pitting the best in the north against the best in the south. Last season a similar event was held at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Alabama, where Augie Grill clinch the win for the south.

The first points-paying event of the season will be run at Ona Speedway located just south of the Ohio River in West Virginia.

May 13th and 14th is a doubleheader weekend with Kalamazoo Speedway on Friday night and Berlin Raceway on Saturday.

Then, on Saturday, May 22nd the Tour heads to Toledo Speedway. It has been four years since Modifieds have raced around the fast half-mile oval in Toledo, Ohio. Matt Dimit was the victor on that occasion, holding off multi-time Modified champion, Kyle Purvis.

In June, the Tour travels to Plymouth Speedway, in Plymouth, Indiana. Plymouth, originally an asphalt track was raced as a dirt track for much of the past decade. Now, the 0.375 semi-banked oval has gone back to its traditional pavement surface for the 2022 season.

On July 30th, M-40 Speedway in Jones, Michigan hosts the Midwest Modified Tour before the series’ summer break.

The traditional World Stock Car Festival is back at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day weekend and so is the Midwest Modified Tour. Labor Day weekend at Winchester kicks off the final four races in the Tour’s 2022 Championship.

The next weekend, September 10th, Modifieds return to Birch Run Speedway just outside of Frankenmuth, Michigan. Birch Run Speedway is one of Michigan’s finest facilities and has a strong field of local Modified racers.

The Fall Brawl event has moved from Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park to another venue rich with auto racing history, Jennerstown Speedway in Jennerstown, Pennsylvania. The 2022 CRA Fall Brawl event will be held on Saturday, October 1st.

The Midwest Modified Tour championship race is again, as tradition, part of the famed Winchester 400 Race Weekend. Saturday, October 15th is the Run for the Gun 50 at the World’s Fastest Half Mile.
