Michigan Asphalt Modified Power Rankings Presented by Howe Racing Enterprises

A big weekend of racing for the Modifieds in Michigan gives us a shake-up in the Michigan Modified Power Rankings Presented by Howe Racing Enterprises. Birch Run Speedway kicked things off with the Wheeler Trucking Modifieds on the opening night of the 2024 season Friday. Then, on Saturday, The Midwest Modifieds Tour Powered by Wheeler Trucking rolled into Berlin Raceway for the first event in Michigan this season.

On Friday, 18 cars took to the grounds for the Opener at The Dixie. Matt MAki and Tim Lahar led the field to the green flag, with Fast Qualifier, Trevor Berry rolling off from the 10th spot. With 50 laps to get the job done, the cream started to rise to the top and soon, Berry had taken the lead. Bringing with him through the field, Kyle Hayden from 6th, Scott Lamp from 7th, and Scott Quaal from 9th. Berry was able to hang on for the win.

On Saturday, Berlin Raceway hosted the Midwest Modifieds Tour and Berry almost went back-to-back in the No.37 but a familiar face around Michigan bested the Modified ace. Brian Bergakker to his No.12 to Berlin Raceway Victory Lane for the first time since 2008 according to the Series. He held off a charge from Brian Nester who finished second ahead of Berry, Matt Dimit, and Greg Fullarton.

Also Saturday, Phil Massuch punched his ticket to Victory Lane for the first time this season at Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway. A 14 car field took the green flag and Massuch didnt' have far to go in 30 laps, getting the win from 5th. Tom Rutherford finished second and Matthew Vainner third.

This weekend, Owosso Speedway is the lone host of Modified racing in Michigan with Birch Run Speedway, Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway, and the Midwest Modifieds Tour all off the schedule.
