Auburn, MI - More details have been made available on the transition happening at Tri City Motor Speedway in Auburn, Michigan. It was announced Friday morning that Michael Blackmer, former owner and operator of the facility via TCMS Holdings, LLC, would relinquish the promotional duties of the Speedway to brothers, Kalvin and Klint Lewis while Blackmer shifts his focus back to Merritt Speedway in Lake City, MI. The brothers spoke to Horsepower Happenings Friday afternoon to clarify some details.

When the announcement was made this morning, it was quickly pointed out by many faithful fans, that the Lewis brothers had been involved with the Speedway for several years, dating back to former owners Steve and Erika Puvalowski, who many fans celebrate as saviors of the Speedway prior to Blackmer's ownership.

The Lewis Brothers, who have remained involved throughout much of the last five seasons, have formed Tri City Motor Speedway MI to assume all financial responsibilities and facility operations at the Speedway moving forward. TCMS Holdings, LLC no longer oversees the Auburn, Michigan facility.

As far as 2025 plans are concerned, Kalvin Lewis says that things are still very fresh and the ink is still drying, but plans are in place to conduct a 2025 season featuring similar racing that fans have come to expect from Tri City.

"We do plan to run all classes that competed in 2024," Lewis said. "We do still plan on having a Modified class, and hope to have discussions to work with the IMCA sanction in the future."

Lewis says he understands that there are more questions than answers at this exact moment. While they continue to process the transition into leadership at the track, Lewis says questions are welcome, but should be asked with patience in mind.

"If teams could give us a few days to let the dust settle, we'll gladly reach out to you," Kalvin explained. "Feel free to reach out via social media, but please allow us some time to sift through all the new things going on as we move forward and start answering questions."

Friday morning's announcement was met with praise and excitement from fans and race teams across the state and it didn't go unnoticed by the Lewis Brothers.

"My brother and I can't express enough thanks on the support we've received on this," Kalvin said. "We want to say a huge thank you to Jason Ball Attorney from Bay City as he helped us through this process."

More details are expected at the beginning of next week regarding the Lewis Family, the details of the 2025 season, and what folks can expect moving forward. We'll continue to provide updates as they become available at HorsepowerHappenings.com.
