Kalamazoo, MI - In December, Kalamazoo Speedway released a schedule of events with one glaring thing missing from the calendar - Outlaw Super Late Models. The exclusion was noted by race fans from all across the region, but also didn't come as a major surprise with the evolution of Outlaw super Late Model racing over the last five years. Kalamazoo Speedway reduced the number of Outlaw shows down to three in 2024 for the once weekly division. As of last week, three events are again on the schedule for Outlaws at Kalamazoo with the announcement of the Triple Diamond Outlaw Super Late Model Series.

In what has become somewhat of a movement this offseason, "house sanctioned" Outlaws are back at Kalamazoo. The trend comes after Owosso Speedway parted ways with the Reveal the Hammer Outlaw Super Late Model sanction for the Owosso 500 Series, announcing that they'll sanction and police the Outlaws on their own in 2025. Also in December, Reveal the Hammer posted a tentative schedule with "three dates to be announced". After Kalamazoo's announcement of the Triple Diamond Outlaw Super Late Model Series, Reveal the Hammer posted another schedule saying "It is not anticipated that any more dates will be added and/or subtracted from the 2025 schedule", suggesting the sanction had hoped to put their name on the three races at Kalamazoo.

As for the return of Outlaws at 'The Zoo' in 2025, the traditional Outlaw opener, the Intimidator 100 returns on Friday, June 6th for a big weekend that offers Outlaw Super Late Models a chance at $5,000 to win, plus a $5,000 to win special for Street Stocks. Then on Friday, July 11th, $7,500 is up for grabs in the Owner's Race of Champions. Then, the Kalamazoo Klash is back on Friday, August 8th advertising $10,000 to win for Outlaws and a $5,000 to win feature for Late Models.

In addition to the payout, Kalamazoo Speedway announced that drivers who race in the June and July races are eligible for free Hoosier Racing Tires at the Kalamazoo Klash. They also said in a post on their website, that the Outlaw Rules will be finalized soon, but they do plan to run the same tires and rules as Owosso Speedway.

In the post on Facebook, Kalamazoo Speedway made sure to clarify that "all events sanctioned by Kalamazoo Speedway, ensuring top-tier racing action". Kalamazoo Speedway General Manager, Gary Howe could not be reached for comment on this schedule adjustment.
