Clio, MI - Officials with Track Enterprises and Auto City Speedway have announced additional details for the event scheduled for Saturday, September 6th at Auto City Outdoor Event Center and Auto City Speedway. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will headline the event as the historic “Mudslinger 100” returns to the Michigan facility. In addition to the region’s premier template late model division, fans will also enjoy one of the fastest-growing Winged Sprint Car divisions - the Tri State Sprints.
The Mudslinger 100 has great historical weight in Michigan. Originally launched as a dirt race at Auto City, famed car builder, owner, and driver, Ed Howe won the inaugural event in 1979. Since that first two-day event in 1979, the event has gone through many changes, including NASCAR, All Star Circuit of Champions, and National Dirt Racing Association before Auto City was paved in 1986. The ASA AC Delco Challenge Series, Main Event Outlaw Super Late Model Series, and non-sanctioned pavement variations have touted the Mudslinger name since the paving of the track. Reveal the Hammer Outlaw Super Late Models attempted to bring the event back in 2021, but rain forced the cancelation of the race that hasn’t been contested since 2015.
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance has been on sabbatical from Auto City Speedway. In 2018, Carson Hocevar found victory lane at the end of the Back 2 School 100.
For the Tri State Sprints, they roll into their sophomore season full of momentum. Launched in 2024 by 2015 inductee into the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame, John Hotchkiss, the Tri State Sprints are a unique take on pavement sprint car racing. Using a 10 inch tire rule to even the playing field for big horsepower engines down to small horsepower engines. Two events were conducted in 2024, both won by 2018 Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee, Jason Blonde.
This season, the Tri State Sprints have seven races scheduled, including at Auto City on Saturday, September 6th.
“You’re going to see the best of Sprint Cars and Late Models in one show for the same price,” said Hotchkiss. “We are so excited for this show.”
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance and the Tri State Sprints will be in action on Saturday, September 6th at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Michigan.
