EVANS, Ga. (12/02/24) – Brandon Overton turned a guest appearance in the Stacey Roberts-owned No. 11 Excel Chassis Late Model into a $10,000 triumph in Saturday night’s Turkey 100 at Swainsboro Raceway.
The Evans, Georgia native, who is preparing for his debut with the Longhorn Factory Team, secured his 10th win of the season at the 3/8-mile oval after taking the lead on lap 34 of the feature.
“Big thanks to Stacey for letting me wheel this hot rod,” Overton said. “I was leading this event last year when my brother passed me, so I am glad I was able to come out on top this year. I am looking forward to the dome next weekend with the Longhorn Factory Team.”
Overton made the 90-minute trip to Swainsboro Raceway over the weekend to compete with the Rogers-Dabbs Crate Racin’ USA 604 Series for the annual Turkey 100.
Against a stacked field of 50 Crate Late Models, Overton outran Wil Herrington in his heat race on Friday night to pick up the 10-lap victory, locking his spot into Saturday's main event.
Starting from the front row in Saturday night’s Turkey 100 finale, Overton seized the lead on lap 34 and never looked back, capturing his 10th win of the season. He banked the $10,000 top prize ahead of Michael Brown, Wil Herrington, Trey Mills, and Trent Ivey.
